Econify Charm

Request a feature in Slack. Get production-ready code back.

Econify Charm builds and maintains software for companies that don’t have an engineering team, or can’t grow the one they have. You ask for features in the chat tool you already use. Charm builds them, and Econify engineers oversee what ships.

Operations team

@charm can we add a CSV export to the outage report?

Charm

On it. Adding an export endpoint, a download button on the report page, and tests for empty and very large reports.

Support team

Can it include the customer’s region too? We get asked for that a lot.

Charm

Added a region column. Tests passing. Shipped to production.

Finance team

@charm change how late fees are calculated on customer bills

Charm

This touches billing logic, so I’ve flagged it to an Econify engineer to review before any work starts.

Econify engineer

Jumping in. Should late fees change for existing invoices, or only new ones? Once Finance confirms, I’ll set Charm on the right approach.

Who it’s for

Companies that need software built without growing an engineering team

You have software the business depends on and a list of changes nobody gets to. Maybe there are no developers. Maybe there are two, and maintenance eats their week. Hiring a team means months of recruiting and a six-figure payroll before the first release.

Econify Charm gives you a reliable way to get that work built. It suits a business with no developers, a small team that needs more output, or a department inside a larger company that can’t get time from central engineering.

If you need engineers in the room shaping product strategy every day, you need a team. We can help with that too.

How it works

Six weeks to set up, then your team asks and Charm builds

  1. 01

    Discovery

    About 2 weeks

We review your systems, your codebase and the work you want done. At the end you get a fixed quote for the Charm build, or a straight answer that this isn’t the right fit.

  2. 02

    Charm build

    4 weeks, 2 engineers

Two Econify engineers fit Charm to your stack: your conventions, your test suite, your deploy process, and the parts of the system that should never change without a person looking.

  3. 03

    Ongoing delivery

    Ongoing

Your team requests features in Slack, Teams or whatever you already use. Charm builds them. Econify engineers monitor what ships and step in when a request needs a person.

Multiplayer AI

Build in the open, so everyone shapes how the feature works

  • Requests happen in public

Features are requested in a shared channel, not a private chat window. Everyone can see what’s being built and why, and nobody has to chase a status update.

  • Anyone can shape a feature

The person who asked, the person who knows the edge cases and the person who signs it off can all reply in the same thread. Charm works their details, screenshots and changes into the build.

  • Econify engineers jump in to steer

When a request needs a person, an Econify engineer joins the thread to help you steer: weighing trade-offs, suggesting a better approach or keeping the build on track.

  • Context stays with the work

Why a feature was built, who asked for what and how the team decided is all in the thread, not in one person’s head.

Why not just use an AI agent?

An agent writes code. Someone still has to own it.

Tools like Claude Tag let anyone request code from a chat window. They work well when an engineer on staff can review the output, catch what the model missed and decide what’s safe to merge. Without that person, every request is a gamble on production.

If you already have engineers who can own that review, an off-the-shelf agent may be enough. We’ll tell you that in discovery.

An agent on its own

  • You connect it to your codebase and decide what it can touch.
  • You review every change before it reaches production.
  • When something breaks, your team works out why.
  • One chat tool, one model provider.

Econify Charm

  • Econify engineers set it up for your stack over four weeks.
  • Guardrails flag risky requests to Econify engineers.
  • Econify monitors what ships and improves Charm from it.
  • Works in Slack, Teams or your tool of choice, and switches between AI providers like Claude, Cursor and OpenAI.
Why you can trust what ships

Production code, with engineers accountable for it

  • Guardrails built in

Requests that carry real risk, such as billing, authentication or customer data, are flagged to Econify engineers for review.

  • Engineers watching the output

We monitor everything Charm delivers and feed what we learn back into it, so quality keeps improving for every customer who takes part.

  • Your code, your repos

Every line Charm writes is yours and lives in your repositories. Charm, the system that writes it, stays with Econify.

  • New or established systems

Web, mobile and infrastructure work, on greenfield products or codebases you’ve had for years.

  • You control training on your data

You can opt out of your code and data being used to train AI models or improve Charm. If you opt out, your instance won’t receive the improvements that come from shared learning. Tell us in discovery and we’ll configure it as part of the Charm build.

  • Switch between any AI provider

Charm isn’t tied to one model. Use Claude, Cursor, OpenAI or whichever provider suits the work, and switch whenever something better comes along. You contract with them directly, so AI usage costs are never hidden in our fee.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask first

Is the code written by AI?

Yes. Econify engineers designed Charm, set its guardrails and oversee its output.

Are we locked into one AI provider?

No. Charm works with Claude, Cursor, OpenAI and other providers, and you can switch between them at any time. We’ll recommend the best fit for your work in discovery.

Who can request and shape features?

Anyone in the channel. Requests are made in public, so teammates can add detail and change direction in the thread, and Econify engineers can jump in to help steer.

Can we opt out of our data being used for training?

Yes. Tell us during discovery and we’ll configure it as part of the Charm build. Opting out covers both AI model training and Econify’s improvements to Charm, so your instance won’t receive those ongoing improvements.

Is there a cap on features?

No. You decide how much to request, and AI usage costs scale with it.

What happens if we cancel?

You keep every line of code Charm produced, in your own repositories. Charm itself stays with Econify. [Contract term to confirm.]

Will this replace our developers?

It works alongside them. They can send work through Charm and spend their time on review and harder problems.

Find out if Econify Charm fits your stack

On a discovery call we’ll ask about your systems and your backlog, and tell you honestly whether Charm is the right tool.
