Econify is seeking a Lead Engineer to head up an Engineering Team focused on a streaming platform that powers a wide range of high-profile streaming apps. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with engineering management, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery across multiple concurrent projects within the platform. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to deliver new features, improve performance, and evolve the platform while maintaining alignment with established architectural patterns.

As the senior-most engineer on the team, you'll be accountable for delivery outcomes, setting architectural direction, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture. You’ll work closely with other client teams and partners to align on technical strategy, drive cross-functional initiatives, and guide engineers through both strategic and day-to-day challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of software projects across multiple clients, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic trade-offs, deliver technical direction utilising and adhering to the platform's architectural platforms.
• Manage a team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and client stakeholders to define roadmaps, scope features, and align delivery with business goals.
• Act as a hands-on technical contributor where appropriate (code reviews, architectural spikes, prototypes).
• Advocate for high standards in code quality, testing, documentation, and developer experience.
• Drive cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and reuse of best practices across our clients’ engineering org.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• Proven track record of delivering complex web and/or mobile applications at scale
• Strong experience with React and React Native in production environments
• Deep understanding of platform and application architecture, including API design and performance considerations
• Ability to lead teams through ambiguity, make sound architectural decisions, and balance technical trade-offs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a bias toward action and accountability
• Experience working with distributed teams and agile delivery models

Optional

• Experience scaling platforms in the media, streaming, or ecommerce domains
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices
